Abstract
This study investigated the differential roles of maladaptive schema, life stress, hostile automatic thoughts, negative automatic thoughts in the paranoid tendency and depression on the basis of cognitive contents-specificity hypothesis. The Korean version of Schema Questionnaire, Hostile Automatic Thought Scale, Automatic Thoughts Questionnaire, Paranoid Suspiciousness Questionnaire, Beck Depression Inventory were administered to 407 college students. The result was fit moderated model that the mediation paths of interaction between maladaptive schema and life stress - paranoia. And maladaptive schema predicted 39% of paranoia score. Mediation model that maladaptive schema - the hostile automatic thoughts was fit. And Mediation model that maladaptive schema - the negative automatic thoughts was fit. In depression, moderated model wasn¡¯t fit that the mediation paths of interaction between maladaptive schema and life stress - depression. But maladaptive schema and life stress predicted depression separately. Maladaptive schema predict 30% of depression score. Mediation model that maladaptive schema - the negative automatic thoughts was fit. Finally, these results were discussed in the view of Diathesis-Stress Model and Content-specificity hypothesis. The clinical implication and limitation of this study and suggestion for future studies were also discussed.
